The eternal question; why is there anything rather than nothing.

 

I have given up the idea of a single entity or multiple entities as creator with a purposeful design. This just does not gel with me and my common sense. The idea of an Anthropomorphic God head seems too absurd and childish to me.

Yet most humans live with some theory or another about a creator or God head. We have ancient theories about the creation of our world which now in the light of new scientific progress and new ideas looks silly and childish. Theories about how the earth was created and is the centre of creation and how beings on our planet were created are imagination of a cave man or a blind faithful.

Despite my disbelief in various religious theories and other creation philosophies and hypothesis the fact of the matter is that there is a universe around us and perhaps multiple universes. A thing can be causeless and without a first cause. This again points to an idea which is beyond my comprehension and grasp.

I can live with the theory of evolution on planet earth for which there is plenty of evidence also the birth and death of stars and planets. Similarly I do not have any problem with there being a creative power far beyond my comprehension.

What is a person like me to do? Shall I live believing as I do that my life is absolutely pointless and meaningless or is there some great wonder to be grasped or sensed which might give solace and meaning to my life? Where do I begin my quest? Which direction to take? Some theory or idea has to be formulated and some direction to be decided upon before I begin to search or even ponder.

I do not believe in signs. I think a creative power which is capable of creating multiverses does not need to talk in sign languages. There is no out of the ordinary miracle needed to prove creation, creation and everything in it is miraculous enough for me. Each and everything around me is a miracle in itself.

I understand that my desires wishes and instincts have been shaped by millions of years of evolution and so is my curiosity about creation. Maybe the mental capabilities I have evolved to are too limited to understand the creation around me then why have the power to be curious about it at all? Seems like a cruel joke.
